Eric Carle Inspired Art Lessons Plans

Eric Carle is one of my favorite children’s book illustrators. His iconic style is an inspiration for many of my art projects. Children adore his books and are thrilled to create art that look just like the book. They get to play with paint, experiment with textures and best of all, create their own masterpiece. But how do you reign in one child (let alone thirty students!) to create this project?

This lesson plan is jam-packed with complete tutorials, templates and student artwork. This 16-page printable PDF includes all you need to create several Eric Carle inspired art lessons.

Templates and Handouts Include:

Seahorse

Mermaids (2)

Owl

Butterflies

Student Galleries Include: Seahorses, Butterflies, Barns & Farms, Tropical Birds, Snakes, Gators & Fish & Mermaids

Only $5

The PDF is designed to be printed out or you can read it directly from your computer screen. The lesson plan features my most popular project, Seahorses, but extra templates and instructions are included to create additional Eric Carle inspired projects!

I purchased a PDF through paypal and I did not see any directions on how/where to download the file. Could you point me in the right direction. Thank you.

      Hi Liz,
Sometimes Paypal can take a few moments to deliver the link to your email. However, other problems can happen. Please refer to the Customer Support Page under Products in the menu bar for FAQ. If you are still having problems, email me privately and I will send your query to tech support.

I purchased this and used the method and templates for a homeschooling group get-together. The children had great fun making the papers then went off to play while they dried. This left the adults to then have lots of fun trying many different colour combinations and varying objects to drag through the paint. We also made up some extra templates using cereal boxes, eg. trees, ducks, fish. We pooled all the created papers, choosing the ones that looked most like what we wanted for the template picture and ended up with some really great looking works. Thankyou for your website where inspiration costs so little.

I hear what you’re saying about the adults getting involved. Making painted paper is WAY to fun. I find myself making a few extra pieces before I clean up after the kids. Never know what you can use them for.
      Thanks for sharing your experience.

If you ordered via google, just log back onto your account and the link will be active for 7 days. If you are still having problems, send me a personal email and I will send you a direct link as soon as I get back into the country. Internet is hard to get where I am in Europe!
