Picasso’s Portrait of Dora Maar

There is no artist who expresses color, line and emotion better than Pablo Picasso. I love his portraits of women, especially his Portrait of Dora Maar. My fifth graders really enjoyed taking their typical Picasso “face” art project that they do in 3rd grade a bit further to include the upper body and chair. Adding these elements allows for more expression and painting opportunities.

The following single subject lesson is packed with Picasso drawing aids. Drawing one of Picasso’s faces has become an art room standard, but including a body is slightly more challenging. My handouts will help your students through this process so they can mix and match Picasso feature elements with the “Dora Maar” drawing guide.

This packet is great for grade levels: 4-6

Note to buyer: This product is included in the discounted bundle, Pablo Picasso Artist Bundle

How to Access your DIGITAL Lessons

Once your payment goes through, you will be guided to a download link so you can see your lesson plan straight away. All lesson plans that you order will remain in your own personalized “DSS store” for access whenever and wherever you want so even if you didn’t received the link via email, you can always access the lessons via “My Orders”.

By adding your email and password to our system, we can provide you with a history of all your purchased art lessons. This means you can access them anytime you wish through the “My DSS” button. Please note: Your “DSS” password is unrelated to your e-course or newsletter sign-up password

I like to print out my lesson plans and place in a lesson plan book, but if you are watchful of your ink supply, you may just want to print just the handouts. I’ve designed them in black and white so you can photocopy them easily and cheaply.
