The 21-page African Art booklet features four lesson plans depicting images unique to Africa. Developed for grades 2-4, the younger students will practice skills such as cutting, pasting, paint mixing, drawing and composition while older students can show off their new drawing skills.

With my original Deep Space Sparkle handouts, you'll find the lessons easy to teach even if you have little drawing or art experience. The student galleries and step-by-step photo tutorials eliminate any guess work.

The African Art Booklet features FOUR lessons:

African Huts-Colorful mud huts are created using paper and pastel then placed upon a radiant sunset. Children learn composition, pattern and perspective. A visually stunning project!

Torn Paper Giraffes-Directed line instruction teaches a basic drawing technique for a whimsical giraffe (handout included). Colored paper is torn into small pieces for the spots and the whole piece is cut out and placed on a stunning habitat.

Senufo Mud Cloth (Ivory Coast)-Using thick and thin lines, children reproduce a classic Senufo image. Photocopy the warm-up practice sheet to wake up creativity and then use the Idea Sheets to inspire designs.

Maasai Figure Drawings- Inspired by the dramatic silhouettes of the Maasai, children create a single warrior or a family adding dramatic African patterns for details. Maasai drawing handout and African pattern sheet included.
