Amate Bark Paintings:Students tear paper and paint traditional Mexican images then outline or highlight with marker or white paint. Two handouts provides images and pattern samples to aid with this project.
Aztec Warriors:Students use markers to draw an Aztec warrior, Aztec leader or Aztec symbol. You’ll find handouts to accommodate all choices and photo and script tutorials to aid in the drawing.
Russian Nesting Dolls: Children draw a nesting doll using an everyday household object then follow a directed line drawing for the basic contour shape. Fill in the nesting doll with patterns. Inspired by the book The Littlest Matryoshka.

I like to print out my lesson plans and place in a lesson plan book, but if you are watchful of your ink supply, you may just want to print just the handouts. I’ve designed them in black and white so you can photocopy them easily and cheaply.
