The Role

We’re seeking a Social Media Content Creator who can translate our mission into visual stories and brand-focused content pillars that inspire and connect with K-7 art teachers. This isn’t about simply posting pretty pictures—it’s about understanding the daily reality of art educators, crafting content that speaks to their challenges and aspirations, and building an engaged community that sees Deep Space Sparkle as their trusted partner.

You’ll work closely with our Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer to create Instagram content that captures the magic of teaching art, shares our brand story and builds authentic connections with art teachers worldwide. Your reels, stories, and posts will help overwhelmed educators discover solutions that transform their teaching experience.

What You’ll Do

Create Strategic Instagram Content
  • • Design and produce compelling reels, stories, and posts that are aligned with our content pillars
  • • Write captions that resonate with art teachers—balancing empathy, encouragement, and actionable value
  • • Develop and maintain a frequent posting schedule aligned with our brand pillars, product launches and membership initiatives
  • • Create content that upholds our unique approach to teaching art
Execute Creative Production
  • • Use Canva and/or Instagram’s Edits to create video content
  • • Capture and edit content that aligns with DSS brand standards
  • • Repurpose existing content across multiple formats (reels, stories, feed posts, carousels)
  • • Work with our Marketing Manager to align content with campaigns, launches, and membership goals
  • • Maintain an organized library of content

What Success Looks Like

You’ll measure impact through:
  • • Consistent content output—maintaining posting schedule across formats
  • • Engagement metrics (views, shares, comments, and meaningful interactions)
  • • Content performance that drives traffic to lead magnets and membership offerings
  • • Community feedback indicating content resonates with art teachers’ experiences

You understand visual storytelling for the education space. You know how to create reels that tell a story, inspire and educate while maintaining brand consistency.

You’re genuinely passionate about supporting educators. Whether you’ve taught art, worked with teachers, or simply care deeply about education, you understand what art teachers need and how to communicate value in ways that resonate.

You have a refined visual style with strong execution skills. You work collaboratively with our creative and marketing team to create exceptional content, meet deadlines, and proactively solve problems when they arise.

You’re fluent in Instagram strategy and best practices. You stay current with platform changes, algorithm updates, and content trends. You know what makes reels perform, how to optimize stories, and how to create a varied grid aesthetic.

Requirements

  • • College degree required
  • • Demonstrated experience creating engaging Instagram content (portfolio required)
  • • Keen “eye” for creating visually compelling reels and stories
  • • Expertise with Instagram’s native editing tools and posting features
  • • Understanding of Instagram strategy, including reels best practices, story features, and engagement tactics
  • • Excellent written communication skills with ability to craft compelling captions using DSS Messaging Guides as your framework.
  • • Experience with art education or creative teaching is a plus, though not required

Schedule Requirements: Flexible work schedule with availability for:
  • • Weekly Monday morning team meetings (Pacific Time)

  • • Monthly all-team meetings

Compensation: $30-35/hour based on experience and portfolio
