Soup to Share

Designed with standards for 4th grade

In this cozy still life lesson, students will create a soup pot and shared meal while exploring texture and space.

Students will experiment with embossed foil to create a shiny, smooth soup pot, then build out their composition with layered collage elements and line designs.

Inspired by Oge Mora’s Thank You, Omu!, the lesson also opens the door for thoughtful conversations around gratitude, community and shared meals.

Our lessons are unique to Deep Space Sparkle’s framework for designing an engaging, yet rigorous learning experience.

They’re standards-infused, age-appropriate and easy for you to implement in your art room to ensure teacher AND student success.
