This lesson is equal parts process and product, making it the perfect lesson for first graders who love exploration but also appreciate a finished project.

Based on the groundbreaking abstract expressionist and color field painter, Helen Frankenthaler, students will explore multiple watercolor techniques to create the beautiful painted paper, learning about warm and cool colors along the way.

They will then collage their painted paper flowers together to create a gorgeous bouquet.
